Chapter 67 would like to thank MCEA for the use of the Annapolis office,  their staff and resources. Without them we would not have been as prepared for our hearing on HB402. We are thankful to have such a great organization behind our endeavors.
Please send MCEA an e-mail and thank them for their support here.

Don't forget to reach out now to continue your individual contact with your
local State Delegates and Senators.

In Washington County, the Legislative Delegation holds an open "Town-Hall"
meeting that is open to the public on the first Saturday in January. Our chapter
members from that area always actively participates in that forum, and our
members in other counties are encouraged to participate in similar legislative
forums in their local counties.

Why do they want your home address
and home phone number?????

Identity theft...security breaches of data...abuse of information...invasion of privacy... lack of confidentiality...annoying and harassing calls. All of these damning practices are possible if your home address, home phone number and other personal information gets into the wrong hands.

If you are a state employee assigned to one of AFSCME's collective bargaining units, you should have received a letter that the state will provide AFSCME your home address and phone number, if you did not return a form by April 17 to "opt out" of the release of information. If you did not receive this important letter and/or did not send it back to the Department of Budget and Management, they can by law, and will, give AFSCME your personal information.

MCEA opposed the outrageous bill and offered amendments to protect state employees. ( A similar bill will take effect July 1 for university employees.) We believe the state handled the notification process poorly and we are demanding that no information be given to AFSCME or any bargaining representative until the process is fully investigated and the letter re-issued with employees given the required amount of time to respond (15 days).

Enough is enough! Help us protect your rights! Complete and sign the affidavit . Fax it to 410-298-6182 today! Read on for more details....

Protect your wallets and privacy from AFSCME's greedy schemes. TELL AFSCME TO BACK OFF!  If they need to contact you, why not use e-mail, a work address or interoffice mail?

Spread the word!
